Sat November 11, 2017 12-4 p.m.
When the going gets tough... remember to Share the Love! Follow the Holiday Parade, which starts at 11 a.m., to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum and create a variety of gifts to share with friends and family. Free arts and crafts will be available from 12 to 4 p.m. Enjoy holiday music from the Kalamazoo Children’s Chorus at 1 p.m. Share the Love will include a variety of gifts for all ages, including a spinning top, plastic flier, and triangle game. You can decorate a flower pot and a coffee cup, stencil an apron, create a holiday plaque and a fan, and decorate a scarf. Create an ornament, several different picture frames, and gift tags. There is nothing that says "I love you" more than a handmade gift! As your creative juices flow, you will be serenaded by the Coro de Niños, Preparatory, and Treble Choirs from the Kalamazoo Children’s Chorus. The Preparatory is the entry level choir for 3rd and 4th grades. The Treble Choir focuses on singing two part music with 4th through 6th grade students. The newest choir, Coro de Niños, is a free after-school Spanish immersion choir for singers in grades 3-5 at El Sol Elementary School in Kalamazoo. A total of five choirs practice weekly on proper vocal techniques while singing through a wide variety of music, from Broadway to Bach. The Kalamazoo Children’s Chorus believes that all children deserve access to high quality singing experiences and is committed to promoting choral singing as a lifelong activity.
