Artist to Icon: Early Photographs of Elvis, Dylan and The Beatles

A Fretboard Festival Special Feature

January 26 - May 26, 2008

First Floor Gallery. Free.

Imagine traveling on the road with a 21-year-old Elvis Presley, watching the Beatles perform in the Kaiserkeller Club in Hamburg in 1960, or being present when Bob Dylan plugged in his electric guitar. This exhibit includes 48 rarely seen black-and-white photographs by five photographers, and provides a glimpse into the lives of these aspiring artists before they became rock ‘n’ roll legends. Audio kiosks featuring oral histories with each photographer offer visitors colorful stories behind the images on display.
