An ordinary weekend

[Post for Sept. 16-17, 1911]

Sat. Sept. 16, 1911
This morning got up about 8:00 then dusted down stairs and sweept[sic] and dusted my room. This afternoon May and I went down town then came home and played tennis. I can beat her yet but I don’t want her ever to get ahead of me. We had lots of fun. I wish I was going to start in college this year as well as May. This evening Aunt Emma and I played Shakespeare then she read while I embroidered and Gene hemstitched. Oh I think May is beautiful!!

Sun. Sept. 17, 1911
Did not go to Church or S.S.  This evening Vera and I went to B.Y.P.U. and stayed through the first half of church. Dr. English of Ablion[sic] college was the speaker for church. You know the great M.E. conference is on here now. About 500 ministers here I guess.

I read and played the piano and mandolin today  Sunday’s always go so fast!!  I am reading the “Girl Who Won” now and it is fine!! Well its 10:00 and I’m sleepy so goodnight.
