Went to school everything was a glare of ice today  it was almost impossible to walk anywhere in fact  Mr. Atkinson went bumpity bump all the way down of[sic] flight of 18 cement stepts[sic] into the drive. Men on skates were going like the wind down main st. hill without making a stroke. This P.M. I studied then Esther and I went over to gymnasium. It seems fine to be in the new gymnasium though the indian clubs are still sticky with varnish and the lockers haven’t come. We had a lot of fun before class practicing basketball. The regular class work is rather tame just at first. This evening I went up to Ogglles and Esther & I worked on latin until we were so sleepy we couldn’t hold our eyes open
