Michigan's Heritage Barns: An Artist's Perspective
This exhibit is now closed.
The large variety of barns in Michigan reflects the diversity within our agricultural heritage. The photographs of Mary Keithan present barns as works of art and help visitors understand how barns reflect the state's agricultural history, the cultural diversity of the individuals and communities that built them, and the challenges of preserving these structures. Keithan, a native of rural Pennsylvania, is now a resident of northern Macomb County, Michigan and has degrees in fine art from Pennsylvania State University and Hunter College.
The exhibit is from Michigan State University Museum.
